Nick Hach began playing drums at the age of 11. He has since devoted himself to learning about the art of drumming and received a bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance from Northern Kentucky University.
Nick's playing is heavily influenced by jazz drummers such as Elvin Jones, Art Blakey, Mark Guiliana, Buddy Rich, and Nate Smith. He also pulls influence from drumline and drummers of other styles such as Chad Smith, Jojo Mayer, Tony Allen, and Steve Jordan. Nick is a founding member of the swing band Mickey James & The Queen City Crew and La Formula Big Band salsa band. Nick also plays freelance jazz gigs.
Nick enjoys giving private lessons to about 30 students of different ages and levels. "For me, teaching music has become far more than a paycheck," says, Nick. "It is an incredibly rewarding experience."
