 VINTAGE 1955 WFL "Classic" Outfit in Black Cortex

• Details & Notes: Circa 55' WFL "Classic" outfit with plenty of tone and mojo to go around. The drums were not originally wrapped in black, evidenced by some slight unevenness in the wrap across all three drums, however they aesthetically fit the era perfectly. The floor tom is a Ludwig pre-serial number. It is safely assumed that the floor tom didn't come sold with this kit, though it is slightly possible that the WFL shells were left over and put together from when Ludwig bought their name back from Conn, and paired with the floor tom. The kit is in over all decent shape and tunes high and low with ease. There is an issue regarding the spurs, hence the presence of the DW hoop spurs which are included with the kit. The original spurs were replaced at some point for at the time modern ludwig legs, and then replaced again with retractable spurs, leaving some extra messy holes. The kit currently has modern Ludwig brackets covering those leg holes, and with modern retractable spurs this would look pretty spot on. The original WFL leg bracket holes are still visable on the drum and not covered. Despite this flaw this is a great kit, especially if you arn't shopping for a collectors set and are focused on getting terrific old school tone.
