VINTAGE Zildjian K Istanbul New Stamp Hi-Hat Cymbals

  • Vintage Cymbal. 1960-67era.
  • 895/895g.
  • This is a wonderful pair of K Istanbul Hi-Hat Cymbals, weighing 895g on both the top and bottom cymbal, making the cymbals interchangeable depending on preference. The "top" cymbal has some flea biting along the edges but none are offensive and common with cymbals of this make and era.
  • This beautiful K Istanbul was hand picked at the old Gretsch Brooklyn New York factory by Phil Grant for the prominent Jazz drummer, vintage collector, and Cincinnati local, Ron Enyard, who has been the cymbals one and only owner. Ron can be found in Rob Cook's "The Gretsch Drum Book" on page 129, and sports an impressive resume of playing with artist such as Woody Shaw, Herb Ellis, Charlie Rouse, Al Kiger, Gordon Brisker, Kenny Poole, and Josh Breakstone.
  • This cymbal is part of a collection of 6 K Istanbul Hi-Hat Cymbals, some of which have been played frequently, and some of which have not been played but a few times and are by definition "NEW OLD STOCK". Each cymbal was balanced and matched with an appropriate top at the Gretsch Brooklyn factory, making each set a true purposeful matching pair.
  • *This is a vintage instrument and subject to the "marks" of K Istanbul manufacturing such as semi irregular cymbal holes and lathing scratches that are not blemishes, but rather a product of a process that was done completely by hand. Not all cymbals of this era will fit current cymbal stand and hi-hat stand cup/thread diameters*
  • *Used and vintage cymbals are on display in our showroom and have been owned by a previous owner. Cymbal may show fingerprints or stick marks from being tested and demoed, or other signs of wear that have been noted in the description such as cracks, keyholes, ect. Used and vintage cymbals are non-returnable items.*
