VINTAGE 1950's Gretsch 28x14 Cocktail Drum in White Marine Pearl

• Details & Notes: We've all seen them in pictures, but rarely do these super cool drums show up in the real world. 28x14" and can be played with a reserve pedal or as a stand alone drum. Gladstone Gretsch hardware is present on the drum, and two of the legs feature what appear to be factory weights, perhaps for balance. Originally there would have been an upright pedal with this drum, but that is not present. The drum also features a factory half diamond bracket near the top (snare side) to mount a 6" or 8" bongo which is not included, but could have been purchased with the drum via the catalog. At the top of the drum are two Gladstone brackets, one equipped with a bar and cowbell mount. The other Gladstone bracket is missing the wing nut. Snares are fully functional and adjustable. They result in a surprisingly crisp tone. Remnants of factory masonite in the center of the drum are present, but the masonite divider that would have been installed in the center of the drum is long deteriorated and gone. Overall this is a great piece and is fully functional, playable, and in good condition especially given the fact that many of these drums were sacrificed to make 14" floor toms.
