VINTAGE 1960's/1950's Slingerland Mixed Era Players Kit in White Marine Pearl

• Sizes: 14x22, 9x13, 16x16.

• Details & Notes: A fun players kit consisting of a 22" 1960's Era Slingerland bass drum paired with 50's era Radio King toms. Though mixed, the kit does look good together, and of course sounds great. Cosmetically the bass drum is the cleanest with the 13" tom being in fairly good condition. The floor tom is functional, though several lugs have been replaced with 60's era lugs, and most lugs have minor cracking. The push button legs are functional with all three push buttons present on the leg brackets, though one is fairly rusty and sticks about two inches from the fully extended height. Rust and grime is present on most of the nickel hardware. The story is that this kit belonged to a drummer who's home was stuck by the great Xenia Tornado of 1974 which left a path of destruction through much of Southern Ohio. Apparently the original bass drum was destroyed in the storm, resulting in the owner to seek out a replacement. The rest of the kit survived, but it is possible that maybe the floor tom took a spill during the chaos, resulting in the lug damage. It is also entirely possible that time just did what time is known to do on Radio King lugs. Regardless of, or perhaps in favor of all the oddities, this set is a great studio kit, project kit, or on the road kit for a drummer who wants the vintage sounds and mojo and doesn't mind some wear and tear.
