VINTAGE 1936 Slingerland Radio Outfit with Natural Satin Bass Drum & 5x14 Universal Model Black Lacquer Snare Drum

• Sizes: 12x26 bass drum, 5x14 snare drum. 

• Details & Notes: This trap kit is holy ground for old school drum set mojo. The 12x26 mahogany bass drum in particular is an outstanding piece, finished in a natural satin with a built in jack for internal light bulb plugs. The drum wears an original Slingerland No. 821 Mountain scene painted bass drum head, unchanged from the day it left the Chicago factory. The batter head however is split from years of pounding out dance band and radio rhythms. The bass drum is paired with a single bead black lacquer 5x14 Universal snare drum, making the reliable combo necessary for trap drummers to succeed. The lacquer is worn in some locations but is in over all good condition for the age. Snare hardware is fully functional. Paired with the set is a small Chinese tom and temple block, potentially not original to the set and mounted on a later era mount. The Chinese tom is slightly jerry-rigged on the mount, but is how the drum was found. Included is one clip on cymbal arm, and a pair of small sock cymbals on a Leedy hi-hat stand. The stand is archaic in all manors and the pedal connection has been replaced by string, which holds but shouldn't be considered a long term solution for playing. Despite some of the oddities of this set, the snare and bass drum make the combination of vintage goods a true treasure. We have deduced this kit to be a 1936 kit based on the catalog specifications of the Slingerland 1936 Radio Outfit options. This kit would have originally had a trap table, and a true "low boy" style sock cymbal, which have been lost to time.
