VINTAGE 1959-60' Ludwig Transition Badge & Pre Serial "Super Classic" Outfit in Black Diamond Pearl

• Sizes: 14x22 bass drum, 9x13 tom, 16x16 floor tom, 5.5x14 snare.

• Details & Notes: A wonderfully preserved set of Super Classics with all the boom you could dream of. Crank these drums up and channel your inner Joe Morello, play them wide open and low for some big band thunder, or muffle them for a tight compressed sound perfect for the studio. The wrap is incredibly clean with a very even grade pearl across all four drums. The hardware is nickel on all drums but the snare, and is outstanding condition. The snare drum features equally as clean chrome. The mix of chrome and nickel was very common for sets of this period, as Ludwig used what was left over during times of transition. The set is primarily built of 1959 clear mahogany interior Transition Badge drums consisting of the bass drum, snare drum, and floor tom. The rack tom is a Pre Serial white interior drum. There are two extra holes in the bass drum from the accessory cymbal arm/percussion clamp being moved. A set of Gretsch retractable spurs were added to the kit to help with the age old problem of bass drum creep. All hardware is fully functional with good, though old, heads, making this vintage beauty ready to go!
