• Details & Notes: Elevated perfection. This wonderful 20",12",16" Gretsch Round Badge has been meticulously hand painted by Cincinnati based restorer and builder, Handshake Drums. These drums have been given a whole new personality with a finish that pays homage to one of the rarest Gretsch colors, Cadillac Green, but with a delightful twist. These tubs have been given a treatment fit for royalty, by using real crushed glass in the painting process and including painted Burgundy and yellow full dress "inlays". The lovely Cadillac Green paint was purchased from Rinshed-Mason, who provided paint to the Cadillac car company in the 50's as "Arlington Green", and potentially sold to Gretsch though they may have used a different source. The lovely crushed glass shows bright through the full dress diamonds, but intentionally is flatter under the green until you are up close. Hoops feature a matte green as opposed to lacquer. All hardware is original minus the hardware of the 16" floor tom, and the feet of the retractable bass drum spurs. The bass drum is missing the badge, as the kit never had it to begin with. The drums have been faithfully resprayed with Silver Sealer, and edges have been carefully touched up in the exact style of 60's round badge shells. Each shell is 6ply maple/gum. Heads fit tight as is always typical with 60's Round Badge shells, especially the bass drum. These drums are the perfect sizes with a beautiful tuning range catering to the hardest of bop, to low and funky dry tones. This is not just a vintage kit, it is a vintage kit lovingly revitalized.
