VINTAGE 1960's Gretsch Round Badge "Progressive Jazz" Outfit in Burgundy Sparkle

• Vintage Drum Set.

• Sizes: 14x20 bass drum, 8x12 tom, 14x14 floor tom, 5x14 snare. 

• Details & Notes: A beautiful 60's Gretsch in the famous "Progressive Jazz" outfit with the 5x14 snare drum option. Finished in a beautiful burgundy sparkle. The finish is in over all great condition with a few scratches and signs of wear, though there is slight lifting of the seam on the bass drum. These drums have that true "Great Gretsch Sound" of 60's bebop recordings. Low tuning feels and sounds at home on these drums, though they do shine best in the traditional higher tunings associated with Gretsch drums of this era. The hardware is over all in good condition, with acceptable wear and some grime on parts like the rail consollete. One screw is missing from the rail consollete, though it works perfectly fine as is. Tone controls are fully functional. The snare drum has a replacement modern "Micro Sensitive" throw-off, which has require three extra holes to be drilled, and has exposed the original throw-off holes. Added, the snap in key holder is missing exposing the hole required for mounting. Reproduction/modern snap in key holders will fit this diameter hole. Snare wires are original Gretsch 42 strand snare wires. All drums have tags and silver sealer, though the snare drum has a clear interior with hints of what may have been Silver Sealer. Some Gretsch drums of the early 60's did have factory clear interiors, so it is possible the drum came like this from the factory with hints of Silver Sealer residue in it. Drum heads fit tight, as was extremely common from Gretsch drums of this era. Oversized drum heads are recommended for this kit.
