VINTAGE 1958 Gretsch Round Badge 5.5x14 Name Band Snare Drum in Anniversary Sparkle

• Size: 5.5x14.

• Details & Notes: A beautiful and rare piece of Gretsch history. Anniversary Sparkle commemorated Gretsch's 75th anniversary as a company and was produced for one year only. Classic "Name Band" model with 8-lugs, Micro-Sensitive throw-off, and adjustable butt plate. 6-ply shell which is in very good condition with original silver sealer. No paper tag, as Gretsch didn't officially introduce paper tags as the norm until 62'. All original hardware, with the exception of the snare wires which are of the period Slingerland. Though the wires arn't original, it adds a bit of magic to the history side of the drum, as many NY Jazz drummers would sub out Slingerland wires for the Gretsch Responso wires on their drum. The hardware is all in very good shape, however the knob on the Micro-Sensitive throw was bent slightly at one point. The throw still works completely fine, though there is a bit of resistance. This is a wonderful looking and sounding drum, with a beautiful history.
