VINTAGE 1935-1945 K. Zildjian Istanbul 20" Old Stamp Type I Ride Cymbal
- Vintage Cymbal. The "holy grail" of vintage cymbals. This is a beautiful K. Istanbul 20" ride, shortly after the Turkish city of Constantinople changed its name to Istanbul. Not long after, K. ZIldjian cymbals dropped the "Constantinople" stamp and started using what is now referred to as the "Old Stamp Type I". Slightly under 20" at 19.5" approximately. This cymbal is over all very clean, with just a few expected rough spots and small flea bites on the edges and a rounded out key hole. The hole does have a few incredibly insignificant hairline cracks that are so small they can hardly be noticed, some appear to be surface only. With Old Stamps of this age, blemishes such as this are to be expected. The smith's signature is still mildly visible underneath the bell. The bell of the cymbal is tall and very round, giving a clear yet woody sound. The body of the cymbal provides incredibly stick definition on top of a beautiful warm wash. at only 1806g this cymbal is very crashable. Sound files available upon request.
- 1806g.
