Genre-bending drummer, Daru Jones will hold his first-ever clinic in the Cincinnati area at Badges Drum Shop on March 9, 2019 at 10:30 am.
Jones' eclectic style has made him a hip-hop legend and sought-after drummer for all genres. He has toured with such renowned artists and producers as Jack White, Slum Village, Talib Kweli, Black Milk, Dwight Yoakam, Jamie Lidell, Salaam Remi, Gloria Gaynor, Kim Burrell, Rance Allen, Black Violin, Ski Beatz & The Sensei’s, Lorenzo Jovanotti and Jon B. Jones (partial list) has graced some of most revered events and programs in the music industry including The Grammy Awards, The Montreux Jazz Festival, The David Letterman Show, The Colbert Report, Saturday Night Live, and MTV while earning rave reviews from such influential publications as Esquire Magazine, USA Today and Rolling Stone.
Jones is also a sought-after producer and boutique label owner who develops talent and releases music through his imprint, RUSIC RECORDS, LLC. He exhibits a unique approach to beat-making that incorporates live drum loops, jazz and gospel samples, and a soulful musicianship into all of his projects.
Jones is currently performing and touring with his collaboration trio and superband DMD the Vibes (aka Daru Jones, Marcus Machado, and Doug Wimbish legendary bassist for Living Colour) and as Musical Director for Pete Rock & The Soul Brothers.
At the clinic, Daru will demo his signature PDP New Yorker drum kit and signature Paiste PSTX DJS 45s before playing a few tracks, taking questions, and holding a meet & greet.
