The limited edition 150th Anniversary AQ2 Shell Set is a special drum set that honors the characteristic sound and quality Sonor is known for. Limited to 500 sets world wide.
Like regular AQ2s, these limited edition drums feature 100% maple shells made from a combination of North American and Chinese maple. This consist of 4 plies of North American maple and 3 plies of Chinese maple. Shell thickness is 7.2mm for the bass drum and 5.8mm for toms and the snare drum. Ebony replica veneer is used for the outer ply of the shells and on the bass drumhoops. As on all high end Sonor drums, the veneer is set vertical. It is finished with clear high gloss lacquer. These drums use the proven AQ-series shell hardware, including the die cast AQ lugs with TuneSafe, the SMART Mount tom suspension system and the DTH 4000 double tom holder. All badges of the set have an embossed SONOR anniversary logo, that is also part of the exclusive bass drum front head.
