VINTAGE 1920s-1929 K. Zildjian & Cie Constantinople 14" Cymbal
- Vintage Cymbal. Excellent example of a K. Zildjian & Cie Constantinople cymbal. Great shape for the age, though there is some very minor cracking around the bell hole. Cracking shows no signs of spreading. Residue of JB weld around cracking shows evidence of an "at home" repair attempt. This cymbal was likely a band crash, paired with another 14" as hand crashes, or used as a single cymbal on a trap kit. For modern purposes, this cymbal makes an extraordinary hi-hat bottom or medium heavy top. Dry, dark, and slightly metallic. Intentional or unintentional "spiral" lathing bands on the bottom expose original patina, something that is typically only seen in modern cymbals attempting to replicate old K cymbals. When used as a hi hat, one can obtain a slight TW hi hat sound if paired with the right top.
- 1104g.
