VINTAGE 1930's A. Zildjian 14" First Stamp Matched Paper-Thin Hi-Hat pair

• Vintage Cymbal. A near perfect set of A. Zildjian First Stamp 14" hi-hat cymbals circa the mid 1930's. These are an incredibly rare piece as both cymbals have existed as a set of matched hi-hat cymbals since their genesis. At the time they would have been made, hi-hat cymbals were just becoming the modern version of what we now see today, and hi-hats were not quite a cataloged item yet. Often drummers would just choose two cymbals and make them work. Both cymbals display intentional complimenting hammering on both the top and bottom cymbal. The ink written price from the original store of purchase at slightly over $20 is still present on each cymbal, and both cymbals still show a hand rolled signature that would have been likely applied by Armand Zildjian who helped his father in the factory. Per most smaller cymbals of the time that come in at thinner weights, these cymbals have semi wavy edges. This does not hinder the ability to get an audible foot chick, though it is more mild mannered. The cymbals will touch more than later production cymbals depending on how open you play them, however this creates an atmosphere of truly period accurate hi-hat sounds. The top cymbal has minor key holing present, but no other issue are present.
