VINTAGE 1957-1958 Ludwig WFL Transition Era Drum Set in Black Diamond Pearl

Details & Notes: A beautiful sold together set of factory original Ludwig/WFL drums made during WFL's transitional period after reclaiming the Ludwig name. The set is in immaculate time capsule condition, with the only unoriginal aspect being the snare drum heads. Drums date as follows 22" WFL badge bass drum and 14" WFL badge snare drum - Jan 25 1957, 16" Ludwig Transition badge floor tom - Dec 2 1958, and 13" Ludwig Transition badge tom - Dec 10 1958. Though roughly a year separates the WFL and Ludwig Transition badge toms, there is no reason to believe this kit was not send out from the factory together as a set. During this time of production Ludwig used what they could of WFL parts, drums, and badges to complete kits. Many kits of this era sported both WFL and Ludwig branded pieces. Both WFL badges drum feature nickel hardware, while both Ludwig badged drums feature chrome. With that said, the nickel hardware shine so much, one would hardly notice a difference until closer inspection. The bass drum features WFL stamp claws, folding spurs, rail mount, and two bass drum mounted cymbal arms. Both toms and snare feature functional tone control. Push button floor tom brackets and legs are in excellent working order. The set comes with a cowbell wood block combo mount, large bell cowbell, era accurate wood block, and a bass drum external muffler. A WFL Speed King and WFL snare stand are included with the set.
