VINTAGE 1961-1963 Pre-Serial Number Ludwig Classic Outfit in Blue Sparkle

• Details & Notes: A lovely pre-serial Classic Outfit in a super clean blue sparkle! This kit has some serious character and incredible tone. The drums were made in the Ludwig craze of the company running multiple shifts. We've all heard the stories of some of the curiosities that would accompany drums leaving the plant during this period and this kit is one of those cases. The original legs were drilled with one leg being off by one panel, placing it lower on the drum than intended. Ludwig had a no waste policy when it came to drums that could be money, so this one went out as was. Down the road, the owner installed Rogers Swiv-O-Matic bass drum spurs in the location the surely hard to play legs to make the drum sturdy. Visually, this looks puzzling at first, but the bass drum stays put and is secure! Two small holes are found above each spur for unknown reasons. The tom rail mount is including but incomplete and missing the upper half. It is currently not installed but is included with the kit. The 13" and 16" toms are in very good shape with minor typical wear, but nothing of concern. The front bass drum hoop has a small ply crack that has not spread and shouldn't be a cause of worry.
