VINTAGE 1961 Pre-Serial Ludwig Drum Set in Sky Blue Pearl with Internal Lighting System

• Sizes: 14x20, 9x13, 18x20. 

• Details & Notes: Born together via a special order with a four leg 20" bass drum, a thumpin' 18x20 floor tom, and a 9x13 rack tom! All in a lovely faded Sky Blue Pearl. The set was outfitted early in life by a local big band drummer for internal lights either for show or for the purpose of warming calf heads. The lighting system starts with a box cut into the 20" floor tom with four outlets which channels to a quarter inch plug on the upper opposite side of the drum. From that plug, the drummer plugs a quarter inch cable into the bass drum at the plug closest the floor tom, and from the second quarter inch plug on the rack tom side of the bass drum, the player will plug a quarter inch into the rack tom. Make sure you follow this pattern for the lights to work properly! There is an extra quarter inch plug under the rack tom mount which isn't to be used. The kit had other drums at one point which since have been removed. The set has a few extra holes, four on the bass drum from a second rail mount, and a Ludwig standard mount added. A few cigarette burns, and a bit of patina, but over all this is an incredible kit both in sound and uniqueness. Not to mention the rarity of an 18x20 pre-serial floor tom!
