VINTAGE 1966 Ludwig "Jazzette" in Black Duco

• Vintage Drum Set. 

• Sizes: 14x18, 8x12, 14x14.

• Details & Notes: Not your standard Jazzette. This is definitely an anomaly, but a super cool one for sure! First off, the bass drum size. The bass drum is a standard 14" depth, not the typical 12" depth associated with Jazzette outfits. Second, the color. The kit is not original "Black Duco". The kit has been repainted in a Duco style paint, and has been repainted once before in a yellow Duco paint, evidence by glimpses of yellow still present mainly on the bearing edges. Our guess is the kit was likely originally natural Maple Thermo-gloss, as badges were never removed for painting, indicating the kit never possessed a wrap. The interiors of all drums have been painted black as well. The hardware is in fairly good shape and is functional, though one floor tom leg has a slight bend. One issue is there is a structural fracture through the shell at the left bass drum leg. The fracture has occurred in a way where the drum is sturdy enough to be played, but a heavy foot could cause further damage. This does look to be a repairable fracture however. Quirks and all, this is a super cool kit. We sure like it!
