VINTAGE 1970's Ludwig "Player's Hollywood" Outfit in Sky Blue Pearl

• Sizes: 14x22 bass drum, 8x12 tom, 9x13 tom, 16x16 floor tom.

• Details & Notes: A player's grade pieced together Ludwig Hollywood outfit for the vintage enthusiast who doesn't mind a kit that has had its use. The drums have been pieced together out of two different eras of "Blue & Olive" badge - 3ply w/ reinforcement rings and the later 70's Classic 6ply shells. The 12" tom and bass drum are 3ply drums with re-rings, and the 13" and 16" toms are 6ply drums. Despite the ply difference the drums sound good together and blend just fine, though one may noticed a bit more punch out of the 12" with certain head choices. The 13" and 16" toms also have lighter hues and are rivet wrap toms. As anyone familiar with Ludwig's riveted wrap, the wrap would always pull out from the rivets with time as is the case with these drums. A few oddities to note - the 12" tom has an internal muffler top and bottom and a non original tension nut on its bracket, and the 22" bass drum has two brackets on each side towards the front of the drum (likely used as cymbal arm mounts). Despite any oddities and flaws with the kit, it still makes for a great studio or players outfit and has plenty of classic vibe.
