Details & Notes: Remarkable Gretsch Stop Sign Era drums from the late 70's with incredibly rare virgin shells. The drums all have Stop Sign badges except for the 10" tom which has a Square Badge. It is possible this drum lost its original badge as the inside of the drum shows some wear and chipping around the grommet, likely done in an attempt to put a replacement badge on, however it is equally likely that this drum is original and just an early 80's drum. The 15" tom has a stop sign badge that predates the rest of the drums by a few years, making it seem that this drum was an addition as well. These are the only two drums not drilled for internal mufflers, which suggest they are add ons. It is likely that the kit was ordered as a 24", 12", 13", 14", 16" configuration with the other drums sourced later. Aside from some grommet wear, the drums are in great condition structurally and aesthetically. The 12" and 13" toms have been equipped with modern Gretsch GTS mounts, but mounts for the 10", 14", and 15" are not present. The bass drum is complete with a hoop mounted Gretsch anchor, common for the era. No internal mufflers are present on the drums. Floor tom rubber feat are missing.
