VINTAGE 1960s Slingerland Gene Krupa Outfit in Red Sparkle

• Vintage Drum Set.

• Sizes: 14x20 bass drum, 8x12 tom, 16x16 floor tom, 5x14 snare.

• Details & Notes: Slingerland Gene Krupa outfit featuring a 14x20 bass drum, 8x12 tom, 16x16 floor tom, and a 5x14 solid shell snare in a red sparkle wrap that has slightly faded. The 14x20 bass drum and 8x12 tom are 3-ply mahogany shells with maple reinforcement rings and the 16x16 floor tom is a maple shell with reinforcement rings. It was not uncommon for Slingerland to put out sets with mismatched shells, as they were known to use whatever they had available at the time, especially during periods of transition. The snare drum once had a “Clamshell” throw-off, which has been replaced with a “Zoomatic” strainer. The change in strainers has left behind an extra hole. This outfit features black and brass badges, with the bass drum badge having a serial number. One floor tom leg bracket push button has been replaced with a wing screw. The bass drum legs tend to have some trouble holding but could be replaced with a new set or reproduction legs.
